Araku, calm and cool destination in Andhra Pradesh with pleasant climate. Located, at a height of about 1150 m above sea level, amidst Eastern Ghats endowed with waterfalls and streams and covered with blanket of flowers during season, Araku Valley is one of the most visited tourist destination in Andhra.

Chaparaiaraku chaparai waterfall_0is a scenic place located 15 km from Araku. It is a feather in the Araku Valley’s crown where water passes over rocky slopes.

Borra Caves:araku Borra-Caves-2 The nature’s chiseling skill is at its best. Million year old Stalactite and Stalagmite formations, due to the reaction of water and Calcium carbonate, make the cave most attractive. The river Gostani flows near caves. Located 38 km before Araku.

Ananthagiriaraku-valley-is another small hill station located near Araku Valley. The Anantagiri and Sunkarimetta Reserved Forest which are part of Araku, are rich in biodiversity.

Galikonda: Rising to a height of 1500 m is one the highest in Andhra Pradesh, located 20 km before Araku, considered one of the best view points.

Coffee: Araku is famous for coffee plantations. India’s first tribal growers organic coffee brand, Araku Emerald, is famous around the world.

Vistodome coach: First of its kind in the country. The Vistadome coaches unique offering which will enable tourists to enjoy scenic beauty along the journey. The journey to Araku Valley is the most enjoyable as the train passes through 58 tunnels, over 84 bridges, hillsides deep valleys all around and streams

Avoid deep summer visit, temperature could reach upto 40 degree centigrade.

How to Reach Araku: Araku Valley Railway Station falls under Visakhapatnam-Kirandul section and is almost 115 km from visakhapatnam. One train operates in a day from visakhaptnam. Kirandul passenger departs at 6.50 am and reaches Araku at around 10.45 am. Train journey is a pleasing experience to the traveller.

Other option is, get down at Borraguhalu railway station, then proceed to Araku by road. Train arrives Borraguhalu at around 9.30.
