Jammu vaishno devi

Jammu, city of forts and temples, is a winter capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. On the banks of Tawi river and at the foot hills of the Himalayas, jammu is the base camp for people who visit Vaishno Devi.

Amar Mahal Palace:Jammu amar mahal palace It was built with Red Sand Stone . Once it was the residence of Amar singh now it is a museum.

Vaishno Devi: Situated at an altitude of about 5000 ft after a 12 km trek from Katra. Pilgrims have a darshan inside the Holy cave in the form of three Holy Pindis. (Mata Maha Saraswati, Mata Maha Lakshmi, Mata Maha Kali)

Bahu Fort: It was built during ancient period but reconstructed by Maharaja Gulab Singh during first quarter of the 19 century A.D. Bahu Mata temple is located in the fort complex.

Raghunath Temple:ijammu0001p4 It is significant for Lakhs of saligrams and invaluable ancient scripts and texts preserved in the library.

Ramnagar Wildlife Sanctuary:Jammu ramnagar sanctuary It is about 8 km from Jammu Tawi Railway station.

Nandini Wildlife Sanctuary:Jammu nandini wildlife sanctuary It is 27 km from Jammu with pleasing location and topography.

Other important tour places are Bagh E Bahu (garden), Peer Kho Cave.

How to reach Jammu: It is well connected to all major cities by Air, Rail and Road network. Airport (satwari) is just 6 km away from the city.
