Panaji situated on the banks of Mandovi and Betim rivers, marked the city with network of water ways.  Capital of Goa and also the district head quarters of North Goa. Panaji gives the impression that it is the carbon copy of the Portuguese architecture and most of the houses, churches are in Lisbon style.

Reis Mago fort:reismagos_fort located on the banks of Mandovi river. It is a 16th century construction, built by Don Alfonso. It is used as a jail and it houses a church, oldest church in Goa.

Salim Ali Bird Sanctury: salim-ali-bird-sanctuary1.7 sqkm area of Chorao island, dominated by mangrove forest is reserved for it and is surrounded by the waters of Mandovi and Mapusa. Many migratory birds do visit the place making it pleasant experince for bird lovers.

Idalcao palace: Goa churchPortuguese viceroy used to stay here, later secretariat was housed here. Bronze statue of Abbe Faria is located here . He was famous for hypnotism.

Braganza institute institute-menezes-braganzais famous for paintings, sculptures, furniture of portuguese goa are on display. Institute of vasco da gama is another important place to visit.

Mahalakshmi temple, Altinho Hill, Patriarch palace, Panaji museum, Dona paula ( well surrounded by the rivers Juari, Mandovi one two sides and Arabian sea on the other side), Miramar beach, National Institute of Oceanograhy, Raj bhavan ( earlier it was a monastery ).
