Padmanabhaswamy temple: Lord Padmanabhaswamy / Lord Vishnu is the presiding deity found in eternal sleep on Anantanag who is the king of the snakes. Goddess Lakshmi at His feet and the Goddess of Earth on His head here. Temple looks like a Pagoda with a large Gopuram, mark of Dravidian style of architecture , and endowed with wooden towers, Kalakshetra mandapam, monolithic pillars, Padmathirtam lake. Male should enter wearing Dhoti only.
King Martanda was dedicated his empire in the name of Lord Padmanabhaswamy in the early 18th century A.D.
